Wear-Resistant Robot Covers Overview

The Wear-Resistant Robot Cover is designed to shield robots from extreme heat and molten metal splashes. Made from premium composite materials that offer exceptional heat resistance, high strength, and superior wear resistance, it is available in single or double-layer fabric configurations. The suit is engineered to fit a wide range of robot models, delivering both functional protection and a clean, professional appearance. It is particularly suited for casting and forging environments where molten metal exposure is frequent.

The fabric features an aluminum-laminated surface that effectively reflects radiant heat, protecting the robot’s body and circuitry from thermal damage. Flame-retardant Velcro® and elastic fastenings on the side openings allow for quick installation and removal, while ensuring secure fitment and maintaining full operational range of movement.

Advantages of the special protection M series Wear-Resistant Robot Covers:

1. Highly customized, one machine one plan, the robot is no longer naked;

2. Reasonable design and cutting, beautiful appearance, detachable structure design, easy to repair and maintain, especially for robots that often need regular debugging and maintenance, saving labor and time;

3. Reusable, saving enterprise costs;

4. The protective clothing can be designed in two-piece or multi-piece split according to actual conditions to meet the rotation of each axis;

Features of Wear-Resistant Robot Protective Covers:

1. Adopt military-grade high-strength new polymer fiber silver glue composite material, high strength, high wear resistance, high tear resistance, strength: 3.6 GPa elongation modulus: 131 GPa;

2. Permanent heat resistance and flame retardancy, limiting oxygen index Loi greater than 28.

3. Permanent resistance to acid, alkali and organic solvent erosion.

4. No molten droplets are generated when encountering fire, and no toxic gas is generated.

5. When the cloth surface is burned by fire, the cloth surface becomes thicker, the sealing is enhanced, and it will not break.

6. Provides long-lasting protection in high-temperature environments ranging from 200°C to 800°C, effectively resisting thermal radiation and molten metal splashes.

7. Prevents welding slag from accumulating around the robot, ensuring a cleaner and safer working area.

8. Reduces the risk of detonation caused by high-temperature welding slag.

9. Minimizes the frequency of robot maintenance by shielding sensitive components from heat and debris.

10. Lowers maintenance costs for end users through enhanced protection and reduced downtime.

Wear-Resistant Robot Covers – Protecting Industrial Robots in Your Facility

Around the world, production is being transformed through automation and robotization. More industrial robots and automated machines are entering factories to improve efficiency and output. Protective covers add another layer of value, allowing these machines to operate reliably even under harsh conditions. Choosing Tehu wear-resistant robot protective covers means giving your robots dependable protection, helping them work at their best and last longer.

Abrasion Performance and Test Verification

Abrasion resistance can be evaluated according to ISO 12947-2 / GB/T 21196.2. Because results vary with the material, load, abradant and failure endpoint, verified cycle counts are provided in the material-specific test report rather than applied universally to every cover.

For procurement verification, TEHU can provide the selected material number, test conditions, abrasion cycles and corresponding report information.

Protection Against Industrial Wear

  • ◆  Repeated Abrasion: Reinforced outer layers protect robot surfaces, joints and cables from continuous rubbing and abrasive particles.

  • ◆  Tearing and Snagging: High-strength fabric, reinforced seams and protected fastening points reduce damage caused by sharp edges and metal swarf.

  • ◆  Repeated Flexing: Shaped joint sections and multi-piece construction accommodate frequent bending without restricting axis movement.

  • ◆  Dust and Grinding Particles: Closely fitted openings and covered seams help reduce particle ingress around joints and dress packs.

  • ◆  Metal Chips: Smooth, reinforced surfaces help deflect dry chips and prevent debris accumulation. Hot or sharp chips require an application-specific material configuration.

Grinding, Machining and Shot Blasting Applications

Grinding and Deburring: Suitable for robotic grinding, polishing, sanding, weld-seam finishing and casting deburring where abrasive dust and particles cause continuous surface wear.

Machining and Machine Tending: Protects robots operating around CNC machines, lathes and milling centers from dry chips, swarf, coolant mist and lubricants.

Shot Blasting: Direct exposure to steel shot, corundum, sand or glass beads requires reinforced elastomeric materials and sealed seams. View our Sandblasting Robot Protective Covers for high-velocity abrasive environments.

Maintenance and Replacement

Remove loose dust and metal chips every shift with a vacuum or soft brush. Inspect seams, fasteners, wrists, elbows and other high-flex areas regularly. Use only cleaning agents compatible with the selected cover material.

Repair or replace the affected section when holes, open seams, exposed substrate, coating separation, failed fasteners or movement interference appear. Modular wrist, elbow and forearm sections can be replaced independently to reduce maintenance time and operating costs.
